Radmila Sazdanovic gave a talk at the Mathematics and the Arts special session at the Joint Math Meetings titled “The Art of Knot Data”. In a twist on the theme of representing knots artistically, Radmila and her collaborators created beautiful images not of the knots themselves, but the data associated with knot invariants from millions of knots at once. This sort of work has the potential to inform new conjectures and proofs by revealing visually apparent patterns in the data.
