Ralph Smith received the prestigious Alumni Distinguished Graduate Professor Award, one of the highest honors recognizing excellence in graduate education at North Carolina State University.

Established in 1983 through the generous support of the NC State Alumni Association, the award celebrates faculty members who demonstrate exceptional commitment to graduate-level teaching and mentorship. It is widely regarded as one of the university’s most selective and distinguished accolades for graduate faculty.

The nomination process is highly competitive, with each college permitted to submit only two nominees annually, underscoring the significance of this achievement.

Smith’s recognition reflects his sustained dedication to graduate education, as well as his impact on students and the broader academic community.

Please join us in congratulating Ralph Smith on this well-earned and distinguished honor.
