SUMMARY:130th Math Department Anniversary Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Register now for a weekend anniversary celebration marking 130 years of mathematics education and research here at NC State. The history of mathematics at the university dates to 1889\, when math courses were among the first taught as NC State ushered in its inaugural class of students. \nHarrelson Hall was the former home of the Department of Mathematics.\nOn Saturday\, Oct. 5\, attendees can enjoy interactive exhibits and presentations by faculty and students\, talks by alumni\, tours of SAS Hall\, and a special evening reception in the James B. Hunt Jr. Library that will give alumni the chance to reconnect. Directions are available here. The event will culminate in an anniversary picnic at nearby Pullen Park on Sunday\, Oct. 6. \nAnniversary activities are free and open to the public. Registration is encouraged to help the department plan an extraordinary celebration. \nRegister now\n\n\nQuestions?
