Lloyd Named Drexel Professor

The College of Sciences has named Professor Alun Lloyd as a Drexel Professor. Lloyd is a mathematical biologist who develops mathematical models that describe the spread of infections through populations. He also serves as director of NC State’s Biomathematics Graduate Program. He is the sixth member of the Mathematics Department to be appointed to one of NC State’s Professorships of Distinction. The others are Leroy B. Martin Jr. Distinguished Professor H. T. Banks, Drexel Professor Tim Kelley, and Distinguished Professors Steve Campbell, Patrick Combettes and Ralph Smith.
