Association for Women in Mathematics

The purpose of the Association for Women in Mathematics at NC State is to encourage women and girls to study and to have active careers in the mathematical sciences, and to promote equal opportunity and the equal treatment of women and girls in the mathematical sciences. Learn more.

Mathematics Graduate Student Association

The Mathematics Graduate Student Association (MGSA) represents and provides resources to students in the mathematics, applied mathematics and financial mathematics graduate programs at NC State. MGSA also provides professional and social programs for math graduate students. Learn more.

Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Student Chapter

SIAM includes researchers, educators, practitioners and students from more than 100 countries. The NC State chapter provides a forum in which students learn about mathematics research applications in science and industry, and facilitates interactions among students, faculty and the SIAM organization. American Mathematical Society (AMS) Student Chapter

The AMS Student Chapter aims to further mathematics scholarship and research, with particular emphasis on communicating mathematics graduate student research, helping new mathematics graduate students adjust to graduate life, and helping NC State math grad students navigate the job market. Society for Undergraduate Mathematics (SUM) Club

The SUM Club organizes academic and social events for the undergraduate students in mathematics. Our goal is to help math students network and learn about any opportunities to further their educational experience and plan for their future careers..

The group hosts a series of seminars that feature informal talks on mathematical topics.

Undergrads Union Grads

UUG is a mentoring experience with graduate students aimed at helping undergraduates who are underrepresented in the math major.
