Ernie Burniston (1937-2017)

Dr. Ernie Burniston passed away on November 5, 2017.  A gathering of remembrance is planned at 4:00pm on Friday, November 10 at the N.C. State University Club, 4200 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC 27606.

Ernie earned a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of London in 1960 and a Ph.D. from the same university in 1962. He was a lecturer at Sir John Cass College at the University of London from 1962 to 1965. He moved to NC State in 1965. Ernie served as the Math Department Head form 1980 to 1989 and then from 1999 to 2002.
