Triangle JV Math Competition

Wake Tech Community College is hosting a mathematics competition for first and second year students on Saturday, March 23rd. The contest and events for the day should last from 9:30am to 4:30pm.
Here are the details, from the contest director Seth McElvaney:

Check-in time is: 9:45am – 10:30am.  The morning session will be a 90-minute, 40-question, multiple choice calculus test (no calculator).
Lunch break: 12:00 – 1:15
Afternoon session (1:15 – 3:30)  is a set of 10 non-calculus problems that students will work in teams to answer (calculators provided).
Teams for the afternoon session will be 3-4 students from your college. (So, if you bring 6 students, then you will have 2 3-student teams in the afternoon.)
A college’s score will be the sum of their best three morning tests (+1 point per correct answer) and their best team’s score from the afternoon session.
In the afternoon session the teams have 10 minutes to answer a question, a correct answer earns 10 points minus the number of whole minutes it took to answer the question.
(For example, a team that answers correctly after 2 minutes and 43 seconds will earn 8 points.  A team that answers incorrectly earns 0 points.)

See the competition page for more information.
The contest is open to any students who have not taken junior or senior math classes (anything up through and including differential equations and linear algebra is alright). If you are interested in competing, please fill out the form below:
