Basketball Analytics Summit Winners

Mathematics and Statistics undergraduates Graham Pash, Sohil Doshi, Jason Thompson and Elliott Reece participated in the SPEIA Basketball Analytics Summit as members of the Sports Analytics Club at NC State. The objective was to determine systems to optimally identify future NBA superstars.  The team applied cluster analysis to assign an “offensive fingerprint’ for each Division I men’s basketball team from 2003—18 and analyzed the NBA performance of draft picks from various systems.  As winners of the competition, they were awarded a $1000 check and team basketball.
