2021 Spring: New open course in emerging tech taught by IBM designers

Below are details about a 3 credit course opportunity for all NC State Juniors, Seniors, and Graduate students. No prerequisites required!
ID 492/582-002 : Special Topics in Industrial Design – “Enterprise Design Thinking with Emerging Tech for Social Good”
Spring 2021, Fridays 1:30-4:30, Online Synchronous, 3 credits*
Course Description:
 
Produce real-world outcomes through IBM’s Enterprise Design Thinking Framework while learning about emerging technology (examples include Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Quantum Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and many more; topics will be selected during the first class) In this interactive course, students will engage with a national non-profit organization to understand and solve for problems they are facing today and help the non-profit organization envision the inclusion of emerging tech to solve a problem for the communities they serve.
 
Students who complete this course will earn an Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner badge from IBM, a career certification, in addition to badges associated with the emerging tech topics selected for this class. These badges can be acknowledged on your LinkedIn profile and resumes.
