Academic Advising Programs & Services (AAPS): Advising Outreach Services Spring 2021
Academic Advising Programs and Services (AAPS) resources
AAPS Walk-in Advising:
For students who need support in planning a change of major outside their current college or program, refer them to our AAPS Walk-In Advising here. Click “Location and Hours: AAPS Walk-In Advising” for details. We are continuing to offer AAPS Walk-In Advising in a virtual format this Spring 2021 to serve students exploring and needing to plan toward a new intended major. Referrals can also be made using the GPS Alerts feature. (Within the GPS system, select “Issue An Alert” and then from drop down menu, “Walk-In Advising for AAPS – Alert Only.”)
Inter-College Transfer (ICT) Program:
The Inter-College Transfer (ICT) Program provides students the opportunity to work with an experienced cross-curricular advisor to explore majors and work towards meeting CODA requirements to change majors. If you have students who are interested in changing majors outside of your college or program and would be a good “fit” for the ICT Program, please refer them to our ICT program site. Alternately, you can make a referral using the GPS Alerts feature. (Within the GPS system, select “Issue An Alert” and then from drop down menu, “Inter-College Transfer (ICT) Program Referral.”)
Please consider attending our “Supporting Students Changing Majors” Advisor Roundtable on Wed, February 10 (10:00-11:00am). More information, including how to register to attend, can be found here.
International Student Academic Support:
For assistance supporting undergraduate and graduate international students who may be navigating academic challenges while balancing immigration requirements, contact the Academic Coordinator for International Student Support. This position represents a collaboration between Academic Advising Programs & Services and the Office of International Services. Students can be referred directly to Tony Shurer for individual and ongoing academic support. Referrals can also be made using the GPS Alerts feature. (Within the GPS system, select “Issue An Alert” and then from drop down menu, “International Student Support Coordinator Referral.”)
Please consider attending our “Advising and Supporting International Students During the Global Pandemic” Advisor Roundtable on Wed, February 24 (10:30-11:30 a.m.). More information coming soon.
