Application for the Caldwell Fellows Program opens Monday, November 14

The Caldwell Fellows

Now in our 55th year, the Caldwell Fellows Program builds on the legacy of NC State Chancellor John T. Caldwell. The Caldwell Fellows program invests in students selected during their first year at NC State who share a passion for learning, growing, and serving others. The program challenges scholars to “Think BIG” and facilitates the goal of maximizing the college experience by providing intensive programming and leadership training and fostering collaborative interaction with alumni, faculty, and community partners. We are excited to announce that the Caldwell Fellows application for the Class of 2026 opens Monday, November 14.

As a reminder, we seek applicants who meet the following criteria
Full-time, first-year undergraduate students at NC State. This includes Spring Connect, Summer Start, and international and transfer students as long as 2022 has been their first year at NC State.

– A minimum GPA of 3.25 at the end of the Fall 2022 semester.

– Exceptional character

– A dedication to personal development

– A commitment to community

– A willingness to accept challenges

– Ability to rise to expectations

Candidates are evaluated on the basis of their self-awareness, sense of social responsibility, critical thinking skills, collaborative abilities, curiosity, creativity, and discipline. Students who are selected to join the program commit to a lifelong process of servant-leadership development and will receive $9,000 annually; $6,300 to be applied to tuition and $2,700 to be applied to experiential learning beyond the classroom. Caldwell Fellows participate in a curriculum of personal values development, principled reflection, and dedicated service. Now, in its 55th year, the program is as strong as ever, and we are excited for what is to come.

Our application opens in Pack Assist on November 14 and closes on January 9. We ask that you please share our application information and criteria with any of your first-year students that would make promising candidates for the program. Also, feel free to share the link to our program and application information video widely.
