2024 Summer Institute Diversity Fellowship Opportunity

This is a reminder we are offering an informational webinar about the 2024 Summer Institute in Survey Research Techniques Diversity Fellowship.on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm.  The Summer Institute in Survey Research Techniques (SISRT) is a diversity-oriented program at the university, promoting inclusivity through initiatives like the SISRT Diversity Fellowship Program. Designed for undergraduate college students with an interest in quantitative social sciences, the two-week program, running from June 17-28, 2024, offers an introduction to survey methodologies and data science. Beyond the basics, it sparks interest in pursuing graduate studies in Survey and Data Science at Michigan, presenting an excellent opportunity to explore and broaden scientific horizons.

A multi-ethnic group of adults are taking college courses at a local university. They are studying together and are working on a homework assignment in a classroom.

The University of Michigan’s Summer Institute in Survey Research Techniques is seeking diverse undergraduate applicants for a two-week program. Ideal candidates should:

  • Belong to underrepresented backgrounds in survey methodology
  • Have shown consistent commitment to addressing social, educational, or economic disparities
  • Have faced financial hardship due to family circumstances
  • First-generation college hopefuls are particularly encouraged to apply

This initiative is part of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiative, aiming to attract underrepresented undergraduates interested in quantitative social science graduate studies. Apply for the 2024 SISRT DEI fellowship by May 25, 2024.
