Actuarial Science Club Announcement/Outreach

After a short hiatus since Fall 2021, the Actuarial Science Club has returned at NC State. Burke King(Club President) spearheaded the effort to reinvigorate the club in order to share the knowledge he gained from passing the first examination and his internship with those who are interested in an actuarial science career. The first meeting occurred on September 9, 2024 and drew 7 attendees. Along with member introductions, the first meeting saw discussion of future meeting topics, potential fundraising opportunities, and common jargon in the actuarial science field.

In the future, the club plans to offer group study sessions to prepare for the actuarial science examinations, host virtual and in-person workshops by local actuaries, and offer opportunities for resume building and mock interview experiences specific to that of an actuary. Meeting dates are tentatively set to occur bi-weekly on Mondays from 7:45-8:30pm in SAS Hall. A specific room will be provided when approved.
