A Semester Abroad in Scotland: Maeve Burns

Maeve visiting Edinburgh city.

I studied abroad in Dundee, Scotland for a spring semester and I cannot recommend it enough. Everyone is friendly and welcoming; my professors even took the exchange students out to dinner multiple times throughout the semester. Scotland has a very lively culture along with many hiking and camping opportunities. As students we could take the buses for free, which allowed for easy day trips to all of the major cities. It was also cheap and easy to travel around the rest of Europe on weekends and during spring break.

Even though I am a math student, I took accounting classes when I was there because their math classes did not line up the same way they do at NC State. All the professors I had at the University of Dundee were great. They were very passionate about the classes they were teaching and made sure everyone could succeed. Overall, the experience was 10/10 and everyone should do it!

A weekend trip the school organized that gave a tour of the Isle of Skye.
