The Math Circle celebration was successfully held on Sunday, April 19, from 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm on the second floor of SAS Hall, welcoming approximately 150 families from the local K–12 community. The event featured two specialized tracks tailored to students’ experience levels. The Beginner Group participated in an engaging, activity-based session led by Dr. Maria Droujkova of Natural Math, exploring the Pseudo-Hilbert Curve. The Advanced Group, designed for middle and high school students, attended talks by Assistant Professor Dr. Xiao Shen on infinity and Postdoctoral Scholar Dr. Alec Payne on Tiling Theory: Order and Symmetry. Participants first engaged in 1.5 hours of classroom-based exploration, followed by the program’s signature “emporium-style” rotation. During this portion, students worked on hands-on mathematical puzzles alongside NC State faculty and student volunteers, fostering curiosity, confidence, and problem-solving skills. Overall, the event provided a dynamic and supportive environment for students and their families to experience the creativity and beauty of mathematics beyond the traditional classroom.
