Upcoming undergraduate research events and deadlines

NC STATE EVENTS AND FUNDING

  • Join the Office of Undergraduate Research for a virtual discussion/workshop series in November. Covered topics will include translating research to a resume, communicating and presenting research, and Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs). Learn more about each session, see the times/days (November 1, 5, 15), and register here: F21 Student OUR Series.
  • Spring Research Award submissions will be accepted through November 8, 2021 at 11:59pm. This Research Award is open to students in all disciplines. Click here for additional details and to submit a proposal. Please carefully review the proposal instructions and funding information at the bottom of the funding page. Students should work closely with their mentors to develop the proposal and budget

EXTERNAL EVENTS AND DEADLINES

  • The 2021 State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research & Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS) is on November 13. For more information visit https://sncurcs.org/. SNCURCS will be held virtually and there is no registration fee.
  • The deadline to submit non-competition abstracts to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research 2022 (NCUR) is November 19. You can review information about submissions here: https://ncur.secure-platform.com/a.
  • Posters on the Hill, an event held by the Council on Undergraduate Research, will be held virtually in 2022. Submissions are now being accepted. The deadline to submit is December 13.
  • The Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education invites undergraduates to compete in the Mean, Green, Recycling Machines: Undergraduate Scholarship Competition. The deadline to submit is November 30.
