NC State Mathematics/Statistics REU students awarded fellowships

Congratulations to 4 undergraduate students from the NC State University Directed Research for Undergraduate Math and Statistics (DRUMS) summer 2021 REU program for being awarded fellowships!

John Hood (Bowdoin College) won an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. John worked with Dr. Mohammad Farazmand (NC State Mathematics). John was also co-author on a paper with Dr. Farazmand recently published in Chaos: An interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science.

Ethan Brady (Purdue University) was awarded a Goldwater Scholarship. Ethan also worked with Dr. Mohammad Farazmand and was also co-author on the paper published in Chaos.

Nate Rowan (Baylor University) was a Fulbright Fellowship for pursuing a Masters in Statistics in Denmark. Nate worked with Dr. David Papp (NC State Mathematics).

Caroline Kapper (Highpoint University) was one of four students nominated for the Goldwater Fellowship by High Point University. Caroline worked with Dr. Jonathan Williams (NC State Statistics). Their REU team has submitted a manuscript for publication.
