LaTeX Workshop

Interested in learning about LaTeX? The AMS is hosting a LaTeX crash course in SAS 4201 on September 12th from 3:30-4:30pm. This is a great chance to learn/practice your TeX skills early for your classes that require typeset homework! Light refreshments will be provided.

Undergrad Union Grads (UUG)

Undergrads Union Grads (UUG) is returning this year as a peer mentorship program for undergraduate math majors! This program provides graduate student peer mentors that pass along information we wish we knew as an undergrad ourselves, such as info about classes, grad school, internships, and more. This is a great opportunity to get more information about the next steps after undergrad, and possibly professional development through UUG events.

If you are interested in joining UUG as a mentee, please fill out this google form: https://forms.gle/DE7J6HgMrsPZDkED8

Women in Finance Symposium

We are excited at the number of undergraduate students interested in attending our Women in Finance Symposium, which will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, in the McKimmon Center at NC State University in Raleigh.  If you had tried to register and received a message that we are no longer accepting responses, please know that we have increased our meeting space.  As such, if you are still interested in attending, be sure to revisit the link below to register.

The Women in Finance Symposium is an opportunity to introduce women leaders in the field of finance to undergraduate students interested in pursuing an advanced mathematics or finance degree.  This event is free and open to all undergraduate students.  Our panelists will share their personal experiences as well as highlight job opportunities that are specifically directed towards women. Attendees can look forward to a buffet lunch, Q&A with our featured panelists and a post-symposium social with our panelists and graduate student ambassadors currently enrolled in the Financial Mathematics graduate program.  This will be a great forum for undergraduate students currently enrolled in STEM, business and finance related degrees who may be interested in exploring careers and graduate programs in financial mathematics.

Registration is open, but seats will fill up again soon.  To register now click here.
