Helpful Enrollment Tips for ENG 331, 332 & 333

Enrollment tips for ENG 331, 332, and 333 (also known as ENG 33x courses).

  1. ALL ENG 33x courses have a strict seat cap. The Professional Writing program DOES NOT permit over enrollment with the exception for graduating students and ADA compliance. A student unable to enroll in the course or get on the waitlist will need to try and take the course either over the summer or next fall.
  2. Please advise students to email professionalwriting@ncsu.edu with enrollment questions and NOT the course instructor. The instructors do not have the ability to enroll students in classes and refer students to me, the Writing Programs Coordinator.
  3. Graduating Students – Students graduating at the end of spring 2026 and unable to enroll in their needed course should email professionalwriting@ncsu.edu
  4. Course Repeat – If a student is retaking an ENG 33x course a third time, they should email professionalwriting@ncsu.edu. Unfortunately, students cannot submit Schedule Revision requests via MyPack for ENG 33x courses; these requests need to be submitted directly to me.
  5. Post Self Enrollment – If seats open in any section of ENG 33x courses between the self enrollment deadline and Census Day, students need to email professionalwriting@ncsu.edu for permission to enroll in the course. Permission is left to the discretion of the instructor and provided on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The Professional Writing program wants the students to be well equipped and ready for enrollment, the program website can provide answers and additional information about the courses and program policies.

In addition to the above information, this document provides the same information for both ENG 33x courses and ENG 101 and ENG 202 courses. For any specific questions about our ENG 33x course, ENG 101 or ENG 202, contact slfowle4@ncsu.edu.
