Professor Mohammad Farazmand delivered a plenary presentation at the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS) conference, Mathematical Modeling for Renewable Energy and Environment, held May 25–29, 2026, at the University of Victoria in Canada.
His talk, titled “A Mathematical Journey Through Modeling, Forecasting, and Mitigation of Wildfires,” explored mathematical approaches to understanding wildfire dynamics, including modeling wildfire behavior, improving forecasting methods, and developing strategies for wildfire mitigation.
The conference brought together researchers from around the world to discuss the role of mathematical modeling in addressing challenges related to renewable energy and the environment.
