Area(s) of Expertise
My research expertise is in applied and computational mathematics, with a focus on applications in the life sciences and public health. A longstanding theme in my research is mathematical modeling of biological soft tissues in the contexts of tissue biomechanics, mechanobiology, regenerative medicine and biomedical imaging. A more recent research theme is the development of tailored unsupervised matching learning algorithms for public health applications. Technical areas of expertise include continuum mechanics (nonlinear elasticity, viscoelasticity, multiphase mixtures), applied partial differential equations, numerical methods for PDEs (BEM, FEM, finite difference methods), methods for data-driven mathematical modeling, and algorithms for data clustering.
