Office of Undergraduate Research Announcements

Below are some announcements, reminders, and deadlines the OUR would like to share.

OUR Events and reminders

  • The NC State Undergraduate Research & Creativity Symposium will be held April 26-27, 2022 in Talley. We will be sending out notifications to those who have submitted soon. For those presenting, whether poster, oral, or other, we will be holding help and practice sessions April 15 (4:00-5:00, GA 2213), April 18 (2:00-3:00, GA 2213), and April 19 (3:00-4:00, WI 150).
    • If you’re an undergraduate, graduate, post-doc, staff, or faculty who would like to lend a helping hand, we’re looking for volunteers.
    • A schedule for Symposium will be posted to the OUR website soon.
  • The OUR’s Spring Debunking Research discussion series still has upcoming sessions. To view titles, days/times, and locations, as well as register, visit and fill out this Google form. We look forward to seeing you there! 
  • The Spring Sidewalk Symposium will be held on April 11 from 11:00-1:00 outside of Talley.
  • Have an artistic and creative representation of your work? Consider submitting to the envisioning research contestRead about the contest and submit by June 19.
  • Fall Awards are open until July 8. Please make sure to consult with your mentor(s) when creating proposals (also check the funding page). Proposal help sessions will be available April 12 (9:00-10:30, SAS 2225) and April 14 (3:30-5:00, POE 214).
  • Want to assist peers on their research journey? Consider applying to be an OUR research ambassador. Find requirements, information, and submit on this page.

Other events

  • Are you passionate about gender equity (and interested in research)? Consider applying to be a WomenNC Scholar. Program information can be found here and applications, due May 13can be found here. Please make sure to review the requirements and needed items for the application.
  • UNCW is offering an NSF REU in Marine Sciences. Applications are due Monday, April 18. You can find information about this opportunity on their webpage.
