Combinatorics and Coding Theory in the Tropics / Deadline April 15

I am Fernando Piñero González of UPR-Ponce. Dr. Pamela E. Harris of the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and I are running an NSF sponsored math REU in Ponce, PR. We seek to build a strong, diverse community of undergrad math researchers. Thus, we are looking for applicants who would be very passionate about math and research. This summer the program will run under the supervision of Anant Godbole of East Tennessee State University and I. Our research projects are in probabilistic combinatorics, permutation patterns, algebraic coding theory and codes from finite geometries.

Our deadline is April 15, 2023. Our application form is in https://etap.nsf.gov/award/1058/opportunity/1191.

We’d greatly appreciate if you could forward this information to interested students and faculty. Anyone interested in the program can email me at fernando.pinero1@upr.edu
