Turfgrass Genetics and Breeding

The Office of Undergraduate Research is hiring a student research intern for a project looking at the genetics of seed traits in zoysiagrass. The student will be working with an interdisciplinary team working and the intersection of genomics, seed physiology and phenomics to understand genetic control of seed yield and dormancy. Daily tasks will include seed processing, chemical or physical treatments to break dormancy, seed imaging, germination tests and phenotyping of seedling to asses vigor. Based on student interest, there will also be an opportunity to assist with seed X-raying and microscopy. Biology, Genetics, Horticulture or Crop Scoil Science majors preferred. Educational Research Assistant

The Office of Undergraduate Research is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented undergraduate Educational Research Assistant to support ongoing educational research and outreach initiatives for the 2025-26 school year. This part-time role offers the opportunity to engage directly with high school students, contribute to data collection and analysis, and collaborate with a dynamic interdisciplinary research team.
