From August 10-September 18, 2026, at MPI CBG Dresden: Dive into Research (equivalent to internships or REUs) program funded by Combinatorial Synergies (see https://www.combinatorial-synergies.de/dives/ for a description of a DiR and requirements). This DiR is on combinatorial structures in algebraic statistics and game theory and how mathematical software can be applied to these problems. The program aims to introduce students to these areas while preparing them for the rigors of graduate-level research. 

MPI CBG Dresden is looking for excellent master’s and bachelor’s students to work together with experienced mentors and research assistants on problems related to the theme of the DiR.

Preference will be given to students with a background in algebra, combinatorics, or geometry, and who are comfortable with computations.
