Student Research Positions

Student Researcher – Land Grant Policy Project
The Land Grant Policy Project is looking at shifts in policies at land grant campuses. Undergraduate research assistants are needed to help with policy data collection and analysis. The project will be conducted this summer, and students will have the chance to contribute to meaningful data collection and may be invited to join in any subsequent publications that come from the project.
Student Research – McCarthy Lab
In the McCarthy Lab, located in the CVM main building, they study the role of intestinal mesenchymal cells in helping maintain tissue homeostasis and driving epithelial tissue renewal in the gut. They are currently looking for a motivated student, ideally in their Sophomore or Junior year studying biological sciences, to volunteer and help with daily lab tasks and carrying out experiments and data analysis. They would primarily be working with graduate students to help out with mouse husbandry work, sample preparation, and data analysis. The McCarthy Lab is ideally looking for a student that is willing and able to volunteer throughout the summer as this would allow for proper training and development of skills that would enable more independence to work within a certain project.
