Undergraduate Research Deadlines and Announcements

  1. The OUR is hiring 2-3 ambassadors for Spring 2022 (continuing into AY 22-23). Review the requirements and apply on the OUR website or send questions to Dr. Showalter (ceshowal@ncsu.edu).
  2. Federal Work Study research assistant position applications for Spring 2022 can be submitted until November 29. It’s helpful to have a mentor in mind/confirmed, but it isn’t required. Check out more information about FWS on the OUR website or email the OUR with questions.
  3. Check out research classes for Spring! A number of departments across the university offer research courses for credits and research experience. Ask advisors, professors, or the OUR about opportunities that may be available to you.
  4. The OUR will host a seminar and workshop series, Debunking Research, in Spring 2022 about various aspects of research (e.g., research steps; diversity, equity, and inclusion in research; presentations and publications, etc.). Stay tuned for more details!
  5. The Biotechnology Program (BIT) has several courses and research opportunities for the Spring. More information can be found on the program website (please send questions to ccgoller@ncsu.edu).
  6. Summer Research Programs and Research Experiences for Undergraduates’ deadlines typically occur February-March. Check out your department’s website and talk to faculty, check the OUR website in December for summer updates, and/or review the NSF database for options and programs.
