Undergraduate research funding now available!

The Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) invites undergraduate students to submit project proposals for potential funding for the upcoming academic year. Students working individually or on teams from any discipline are encouraged to submit their proposals for review. Awards range in amounts up to $1,000.

Bates Wins NSF Grad Fellowship

Savannah Bates, a PhD student in the Biomathematics Graduate Program, was awarded a prestigious Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation. Savannah works with Cristina Lanzas (NCSU Veterinary Medicine) on multi-scale modeling of Clostridioides difficile ("C. diff") infection within and between people in a hospital. Congratulations to Savannah on winning this highly competitive award.

Ryan Brandt, Bryant Cox, and Nicolas Labaza win top 3

The William Lowell Putnam Competition is a preeminent mathematics competition for undergraduate college students in the United States and Canada. Fifteen NCSU students participated in the 2018 event. Among the NCSU contestants, the top three places go to math majors Ryan Brandt, Bryant Cox, and Nicolas Labaza. Congratulations to all!

New Course: CSC 110
