MTBI 2019: Applications Open

MTBI is an intensive summer research experience that prepares undergraduate students for the rigors of graduate level research at the interface of mathematics, statistics, and the natural and social sciences. Select students are invited to Arizona State University for eight weeks, where their time is split between classroom instruction on research methods and hands-on research projects.

Artificial Intelligence Summer Institute at Oak Ridge National Laboratory

Selections will be made on a rolling basis with the first round of selections starting January 1, 2019, and selections continuing until 10 applicants have been chosen. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2019. To be considered for selection, applications must be fully completed and submitted and two recommendations must be received within the Zintellect system. Applicants will be notified when selections are completed. For best chance of selection, you must complete your application as soon as possible.

Ipsen and Kelley named Fellows of AAAS

Mathematics Professors Ilse Ipsen and Tim Kelley have been named Fellows of the American Association for Advancement of Science. They are two of the four NCSU faculty among the 416 AAAS members to be named Fellows this year. Ipsen and Kelley have previously been recognized as fellows of the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
