Project YES Internship Now Accepting Applications

This is a 12-month internship with effective dates of June 2018 - May 2019.  Selected interns must participate in the 2018 Project YES intern orientation to be held May 18-26, 2018 at NC State University.  The last day Project YES will be accepting applications is March 1, 2018.

Deloitte Consulting – StartUp Competition

As alluded to in the previous iterations of the faculty newsletter, Deloitte will be on campus this March to host StartUp NC State: a competition that allows students from across all majors to collaborate and showcase their creative and innovative skills. Students will be able to develop and build solutions to current college campus-related challenges and propose their ideas to senior leadership from Deloitte as well as their own NC State faculty.

SUMMER OUR and ACC GRANTS

The Office of Undergraduate Research through the Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA) will provide research grants ranging in amounts up to $2,500* to undergraduate students for research projects for the Summer 2018 semesters. The number of grants given is determined by amount of funding available at the time the selection process occurs. Proposals are reviewed by faculty/post-docs within the home college of the mentor.

Symposium for Undergraduates in the Mathematical Sciences

The Brown University Symposium for Undergraduates in the Mathematical Sciences (SUMS) has been held annually since 2002. The symposium's goal is to foster greater undergraduate interest and scholarship in mathematics by demonstrating the ubiquity of mathematics throughout the sciences. The conference also provides an environment in which motivated undergraduates can come together to share their own work and learn from distinguished faculty and researchers from around the country.

Research Opportunity at Emory University

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Emory University is looking for two undergraduates who are strongly motivated to develop new mathematical and computational methods for deep learning. The students will be hosted on Emory's main campus in Atlanta, GA, for 6-8 weeks during the summer (start and end dates are flexible). We particularly encourage women, students from underrepresented groups or institutions, and first-generation college students to apply.
